How to Farm!

One of the best quick and easy money makers these days is the farm! While it's not going to be what makes you your millions of gold, it's a pretty fast way to turn around a few gold, or at least get the mats you need for your profession dailies.

Let's take a look at the farm. Fly out to Halfhill in the Valley of the Four Winds and try not to get ganked in the process.

Great we have 16 crops ready to harvest. (Your farm might not look like this just yet, but bare with me I'll get a how to unlock your farm post up sometime soon.) Let's get to it! I like to stand right in the middle of 4 plots so I can reach 4 different plots without having to move at all (saves time). If you learn the right spots you only have to go to four different places to harvest all of your crops.

During the process of harvesting your crops you might have to pull some weeds. They're pretty harmless and only take a few seconds. So jump on one and spam the number 1 key.

You might also come across some plots that say Occupied. Ignore those for now. Get your plow out and lets start tilling this land so we can plant more crops. Now the most efficient way to plow is a sort of weave pattern where you start one direction then go back the other again and again.

Alright we got our soil plowed! Great job! Oh ya do you remember that Occupied plot? Well, when we plowed we just about killed that ugly little virmen living there, but not all the way. So head back over there and bop it on the head! Then till that plot again by hand.

Time to get planting, but wait! We need seeds! So head over to Merchant Greenfield in the little bazaar behind your farm and pick up a pack of whatever kind of seeds strikes your fancy.
(Truba is a tailor so she likes the Bag of Windshear Cactus Seeds)

Now back to the farm! If you stand right in the middle of your farm next to the friendly scarecrow you can plant all your seeds from one nice location!

Now that we've planted all of our seeds we have to tend to them to make sure they can grow so we can harvest them tomorrow. This is my least favorite plant that I have to take care of. Yes you guessed it, The Wild plant! (AHHHHHHHHHHH). He's not that hard you just have to get up to 50 stacks of punching him before he behaves. This means hit the "1" button as much as you can and every time you see a progress bar hit that number 2 button.

The runty plants are pretty easy to tend to you just need to click on them and jump to pull them up (spacebar).

Wiggling and Alluring plants are going to take a while too (well depending on how high your dps is). I like to click on all of them that are up so that you call all the virmen and crows down to kill at once since most characters these days have some sort of cleave or aoe attack the whole process is a bit quicker.

Now we need to spray and water our plants and we should be ready for tomorrow!

Wait a second! What happens if our plants get tangled?! That's my favorite one of all! Mount up, click on the tangled plant and fly away. Pop! Just like that the tangle goes away!

By doing my farm everyday on 3 different characters I am able to do my Imperial Silk and Celestial Cloth cooldown everyday with plenty of Windwool cloth left over by planting Windshear Cactus Seeds. When I plant Enigma Seeds I have usually enough mats to make around 5 Potions of Luck to sell or use and enough mats to make the potions I need for the daily or keep them to turn into Inscription mats. Finally with Snakeroot Seeds I have enough to do a Jard's Peculiar Energy Source and Living Steel cooldown daily.

So for me the farm is a daily necessity to keep a good inflow of mats in order to keep my profession cooldowns up which I can then use to either sell the cooldown items or stock up to make bigger items to sell on the auction house later.

As always, love you little gold goblins and gnomes!
Until tomorrow,
~ Turbos
