The Flip - (The Undermine Journal)

One great way to make money on the Auction House is by flipping items. That means that someone whether because they didn't know or didn't care, put up something on the Auction House for an amount cheaper than what the going rate is for that item. You then buy it out and relist it for the correct amount or an even higher than average amount.

Let's see how this works. Get your little auction house toon out and run to your local Auction House. Next tab out of the game and visit The Undermine Journal. Select your Server and your Faction and you should get a screen that looks something like this.

Click on the Great Deals tab and the Great Deals option. This will show you a list of what is currently up on your local Auction House that is currently under-priced compared to what is normal for your own server and other servers.

Flipping through the page leads us to lots of potential options for greater gold. I personally found the Engraved Breastplate to be a good deal. You can see here it is listed for 15g, but the Mean price is 445.48g and the Global Median is 512.25. I usually average the two prices to get a more accurate view of what I could potentially make on that item. That would give us around 478 gold. Now there are two reasons why this piece of armor is going for 400+ gold it either looks cool or has great stats. Both of these are subjective so you have to have a good taste of style or a good working knowledge of gear.

So let's tab back over to the Auction House and see 1 if this item is still up for sale (which it should be unless someone else already thought it was a good deal) and 2 if we want to invest in it.

Looks like there are already 4 other auctions for the Engraved Breastplate with the cheapest other option being 361g. So instantly I know this is probably gonna be an easy to say yes to investment. 300g profit isn't too bad a deal. Now let's check out how it looks. Ctrl + Click the item to try it on. It looks pretty cool. Not too many chest pieces have this style so it will probably sell based on looks alone.

Now we just need to buy it up, relist it for 360g (making your auction the cheapest option currently available), and wait for that profit to roll in.
